What this site is

Name Chuckle is an informational home decor publication. It sells nothing, ships nothing and provides no services. Everything here is general editorial guidance written by Amelia Bennett, an interior stylist. It is not professional advice about your specific building, lease, structure or safety situation.

DIY, tools and safety — read this one

Many guides describe mounting shelves, hanging mirrors, drilling into walls, using adhesives and assembling furniture. Structural conditions, wall types, stud spacing, anchor ratings, electrical and plumbing runs, load limits and local building codes vary enormously and cannot be assessed from a photograph.

• You are responsible for verifying that a method is safe and appropriate for your specific wall, room, tools and skill level.
• Weight ratings quoted in articles are general guidance. Always follow the instructions and load ratings printed on the hardware you actually buy — those override anything written here.
• Scan for wiring and pipes before drilling. If a project involves electrical work, gas, plumbing, load-bearing structure or work at height, hire a licensed professional.
• If you rent, check your lease before drilling, painting or making any permanent change. Renter-safe alternatives are flagged throughout, but your lease is the authority, not this site.

You accept full responsibility for any project you undertake based on content from this site, and for any resulting damage or injury.
