Affiliate Disclosure
Effective August 15, 2026
You should always know how a publication makes money before you take its shopping advice. Here is exactly how this one does, and the rules I hold myself to so a commission never decides what gets recommended.
The short version
Some links on this site are, or may become, affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay Name Chuckle a small commission. The price you pay is identical either way — the commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, never out of your pocket.
Current status
As of the effective date above, product mentions on this site are editorial and are not monetized with affiliate links. Layouts are built so that affiliate links and display advertising can be added later. This page is published now so the disclosure is already in place the day that changes, and every article that carries affiliate links also carries a disclosure line above the content.
FTC disclosure
In accordance with the US Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255), Name Chuckle discloses that it may receive compensation for purchases made through links on this site, and may receive products at no cost for the purpose of review.
Programs
Where affiliate programs are used, they are expected to include the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and comparable programs run by home and lifestyle retailers. As an Amazon Associate, Name Chuckle earns from qualifying purchases. Any additional programs will be added to this list.
Display advertising
This site is built to carry display advertising. Ads are chosen by ad networks, not by me, and are labelled as advertising where they appear. Which ads you see may depend on your browsing history — see the cookie policy for the opt-outs.
Gifted products and sponsored work
I occasionally receive products at no cost from decor brands. Receiving a product does not buy a recommendation, a rating or a place in a roundup, and I do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review. If a piece of content is sponsored or a product was gifted, it is labelled clearly at the top of that article — not buried in a footer.
How picks are actually chosen
Every “best of” roundup on this site states its criteria before it states its picks. Products are selected on the basis of build quality, real dimensions, weight ratings, how they behave in small and rented spaces, and price relative to what you get.
- A higher commission never moves a product up a list.
- If the honest answer is “the cheap one is fine” or “buy this secondhand instead,” that is what the article says.
- Thrifted, vintage and no-purchase options appear alongside paid options wherever they genuinely work.
- If I have not used or examined a category closely enough to have an opinion, I do not publish a roundup about it.
What happens when you click an affiliate link
The retailer can see that the click came from this site and may set a cookie so a later purchase is attributed here. I receive aggregate reports — items ordered and commission earned. I never receive your name, address, email or payment details. See the privacy policy for full detail.
Prices and availability
Prices, price tiers and availability change constantly and are accurate only as of writing. Always confirm the current price and specification on the retailer’s own page before buying. Name Chuckle is not responsible for a retailer’s pricing, stock, shipping or returns.
